Junior Presidents update
14 Jul 2020 by Paul Bottele
Dear Parents and Players,
As you have all experienced, the COVID period has been disruptive.
Junior Rugby League has been affected like all sports. It has been a very challenging and dynamic process for our volunteers to get our juniors back on the field.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this time.
Our club and the Illawarra League have been guided by the instructions of the NSWRL and the State Government Regulations.
The format, schedules, draws, length of game times and not having competition tables are some of the sacrifices the Junior League has had to make in order to comply with these COVID regulations
Our club has been on the front foot in our response through our COVID-19 Safety Plan and a clear leader in making the return to playing possible. The safety of our players and community is of upmost importance and we ask everyone to work together as one team and one club to maintain the highest of standards.
1/ Adhere to social distancing practices
2/ Follow the directions of ground managers
3/ Stick to the one parent rule in attendance on game days
4/ Bring your own water bottles
5/ Don’t turn up if you or your family has been sick
The priority has been to get all players back on the park and our aim is to keep them on the park!
A special thank you and show of appreciation goes out to the Wests Devils Junior Committee and in particular Leann Andrews, who has been instrumental not just in guiding our club through the process but also in assisting the Illawarra League putting together draws and getting the show on the road.
This season certainly won’t be a normal one, but remember we are very fortunate to be playing this weekend at all. Enjoy, have fun and see you all at the game!
